Profiling Cysteine Proteases in Neuroinflammatory Cells

Our recent publication explores the role of cysteine proteases in neuroinflammatory cells (Alzheimer) by the use of a new activity-based probe (ABP) for cysteine proteases, FGA139. This ABP displays a bodipy fluorophore attached to an irreversible inhibitor's peptide backbone. Interestingly the probe confirmed specificity and showed protective effects against oxidative stress and macrophage activation.
